Controlled burns:

Deliberately setting fires under controlled conditions to reduce the amount of dry vegetation (fuel) that could feed a wildfire.

2

Reduced fire intensity and spread:

By Maintaining the clearances, hazard reduction burning aims to make future fires less intense and easier to control.

3

Home safety:

Installing smoke alarms on every level, replacing them regularly, and removing dry debris from gutters and roofs.

4

Maintaining a safe environment:

Clearing vegetation around homes, storing firewood safely (at least 30 feet away from the home on the uphill side), and keeping outdoor areas tidy.

By implementing these measures, individuals and communities can significantly reduce the risk of fires and protect themselves and their surroundings.
